Developer Alert: Intuit Blue Dot Widget will be deprecated on June 30th, 2017

The Intuit “Blue Dot Widget” will be deprecated on June 30th, 2017.

What is happening?

The legacy (Intuit Partner Platform) JavaScript component known as the Blue Dot widget will stop being supported as of June 30, 2017. The Blue Dot widget was a JavaScript UI component that could be placed within a 3rd-party application to provide information to the end customer about their QuickBooks Online or Desktop company status.

What do I need to do?

If you are rendering the Blue Dot widget within your application, you should remove the JavaScript tags that render the widget.

<ipp:blueDot></ipp:blueDot>

You might also have code that calls an API to get the content that populates the widget. That code can be removed as well. The included JavaScript library still supports other Intuit Developer Group widgets, so you will probably need to keep referencing the entire library.
