What's new in QuickBooks Online: December 2020

Welcome back to another in a series of article about QuickBooks® Online. These articles run on the Developer Blog so that our community can stay aware of new features and improvements in QuickBooks Online.

And, with that, it’s a wrap. Another year in the books. Thank you for rising up to the challenge that 2020 turned out to be. We’re excited to share a few updates that can help speed up your workflow during this busy time of the year.

New Cleanup feature in QuickBooks Live

In a nutshell: Cleanup is a new, integrated offering from QuickBooks® Live Bookkeeping. Billed on a pay-per-use format, Cleanup can help with tasks, such as reconciling historical accounts (up to the previous year’s tax filing) and categorizing historical transactions (back to your most recent tax filing).

The QuickBooks Live team has started rolling out the Cleanup service, which is an addition to the current Live service that you can purchase along with Ongoing Bookkeeping. We’ve evolved our previous Full Service offering to now charge for both cleanup work upfront, as well as  deliver that cleanup within a month’s time. After Live completes your cleanup work, you would transition to the Ongoing service and continue working with your bookkeeper. Charges are based on your monthly expense volume.

For the initial rollout, we’ve prioritized QuickBooks Online customers who meet the following criteria:

  • Have QuickBooks Online files older than 60 days.
  • Not currently connected to an accountant or ProAdvisor® through QuickBooks Online Accountant.
  • Not currently signed up for Live Bookkeeping.

In the coming months, we’ll be rolling out the new Cleanup offering that’s sold along with Ongoing bookkeeping to QuickBooks Online customers newer than 60 days, and also to customers entirely new to QuickBooks Online. Learn more
