NOTICE: We deprecated OpenID 2.0 on May 31, 2019. The OAuth 2.0 deprecation date remains December 17, 2019. This approach applies to the QuickBooks Online accounting and payment APIs.
What is happening?
As previously announced, we’re deprecating OAuth 1.0 and OpenID 2.0. The OpenID deprecation date is now May 31, 2019 and the OAuth 2.0 remains December 17, 2019. To keep your app(s) working and your customers connected you need to migrate your customers. OAuth 2.0 is our standard, and it provides several benefits for customers. (See below to learn more.)
So far, we’ve provided you with new migration docs, code samples, tools, and a migration API to help you make the move. Back in January, I also published a blog covering FAQs about OAuth 2.0. I hope you found it useful.
And now, we’re offering some promotional goodies to make migration more fun!
What do you need to do?
First: If you get the job done now and migrate your app and its users before May 31, 2019, we’ll send you a cool new Intuit Developer hoodie as a special thank you for finishing quickly!
Second: We want to understand more about your individual plans and needs. So, regardless of when you migrate, we’re offering each of you an entry into a prize draw for a top-quality entertainment system just for telling us a bit more about yourself and your migration plans.
You can enter the prize draw here before May 31, 2019
Where can you learn more?
If you’ve been putting migration on the back burner, we hope you’ll take this opportunity to review the January blogs and get up to speed with questions like:
- What is OAuth for?
- What is OpenID for?
- When/how does my app use OAuth?
- What is different about OAuth 2.0?
- What is OAuth 1.0 Deprecation?
- How do I know whether my app still uses OAuth 1.0?
- I think my app needs to migrate to OAuth 2.0. What should I do?
- Will I need to change how my app uses QuickBooks Online?
Check out the answers to these questions in our OAuth blog.
We love our devs and small businesses, and we want to make OAuth migration as smooth as possible for you and your customers. Let us know if you need more information or tools to help you migrate. We look forward to seeing you in your new hoodie, and good luck in the prize draw for the entertainment system!
